FORGED STUDENT MINISTRY
"As Iron Sharpens Iron, So One Man Sharpens Another."
Proverbs 27:17
OUR PURPOSE WHAT WE EXIST TO DO
We exist to REACH students for Christ and guide them to a MATURE faith that will survive after high school and will MULTIPLY by serving and reaching others.
OUR STRATEGY HOW WE PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH OUR PURPOSE
REACH
PIZZA DAY ACTIVITY CENTER
Every Tuesday at Lunch
Pizza Day gives our youth ministry workers the opportunity to hang out with students on a weekly basis. Each week, Jr. High and High School students come across to the Activity Center and eat lunch with us. We provide a pizza lunch including soft drink and candy bar for only $3.00.
5th QUARTER ACTIVITY CENTER
After a football or basket ball game
5th Quarters are an opportunity for us to open our facilities to the youth of the community for a time of fun and interaction. Jr. High and High School students love to come to 5th Quarter to be with their friends and play games after the game.
FALLS CREEK DAVIS OKLAHOMA
Summer Oklahoma boasts the largest Youth Camp in the Nation. Falls Creek has the largest ropes course in the US, and the greatest heritage in America. For over 80 years Falls Creek has been challenging the believer to walk with Christ and consider giving their life to ministry and challenging the person who does not know Christ to give their life to Jesus.
FUSION ACTIVITY CENTER
Wednesdays at 6:15pm
Fusion is our Wednesday night youth service. Fusion means "a merging of different elements into a unified whole." Our Wednesday program is designed to do just that. We seek to merge the lives of unbelieving students, believing students, and adult youth workers. We use music, video, games, and relevant messages to fuse those different groups together and to the life of God.
MATURE
SUNDAY SCHOOL YOUTH ROOM
Sundays at 10:30am
Sunday School has long been the favorite way for families to connect with a church and, also, with God and His Word. We have six different youth classes at FBC: 7-8th grade boys 7-8th grade girls, 9-10th grade boys, 9-10th grade girls, 11-12th grade boys, and 11-12th grade girls.
FUEL YOUTH ROOM
Fuel is our second-level discipleship program, going beyond the basic Bible knowledge taught in Sunday School, we teach students about how they can put that knowledge into practice and live out their faith in everyday life.
D-GROUPS DIFFERENT PLACES
Different Times
Our goal as Christians to "make disciples" (Mt. 28:19-20). D-groups are small groups for the purpose of in-depth discipleship. Students will learn how to draw deep truths Scripture, and will form deep, encouraging and accountable relationships with an adult and a few other students.
DISCIPLE NOW HOMES / CHURCH
Spring time
Disciple Now is a weekend event designed to inspire students to go deeper in their relationship with Christ. Disciple Now weekend is filled with intense worship, applicable Bible study and messages, and cool group leaders from all over. Each small group spends the weekend in the home of one of FBC's caring adults, as well as in large group settings at the church, together with all of the other small groups.
UNDERGROUND ACTIVITY CENTER
Periodically on Saturday Nights
Some students long for a more intense time of worshiping God. This event is open to any church in the area and is designed just for those students. Underground is a time where students with a passion for worship can come together and sing and praise God without any distraction.
SUPER SUMMER OBU, SHAWNEE, OK
June
Super Summer is a camp designed especially for students who are leaders in their youth groups. Leadership students from all over Oklahoma will receive encouragement, help, and friendship as they learn how they can be better leaders and better followers of Christ.
MULTIPLY
WORLD CHANGERS MISSION TRIP Summer World Changers seeks to provide Christian youth and adults with opportunities to meet the physical and spiritual needs of others through practical learning experiences that teach servanthood and personal commitment to missions.
CAMPUS MISSIONARIES
Your school, every day
The Campus Missionary strategy is a bold concept for evangelizing the 56,000 secondary school campuses in America. It revolves around the idea that school campuses are mission fields, Christian students are missionaries, and churches are sending agencies. Teachers, administrators, coaches, and parents are limited in their freedom to share the gospel in an educational setting, but students are native to school culture and have more opportunities to share the love of Jesus.
FRONTLINE MINISTRY
Every Week
Frontline is our strategy to make new students and students on the fringes feel welcomed and included. Some students have a real passion and giftedness for doing just that, so we train them and give them the opportunity to serve God in this way.
CHILDREN'S FALLS CREEK SPONSOR DAVIS, OKLAHOMA
June
Children's Falls Creek is for kids finishing grades 4-6. Some teenagers make great sponsors for that camp. These students must be 10th-12th graders and should display spiritual maturity and a desire to serve God and be a positive role model for the children.
D-GROUP LEADER
Different times and places
This is an opportunity for our Jr's and Sr's to serve God and take a leadership role in the lives of younger students. Those who are chosen for this ministry will lead a group of two or three 7th-8th graders in a mentoring relationship, teaching them how to study their Bibles and be accountable for their spiritual growth.
MINISTRY TEAMS
These are teams of students who work on different projects and do different ministries within the youth ministry and the church.
